when used out of context, these can seem funny, but if you look at what’s actually happening to her, the look on her face is heartbreaking. i find it incredible that sophie can channel this kind of despair. a lot of young ‘actors’ (ie the people on pretty little liars, gossip girl, etc) have their faces completely still and composed but with one perfect tear rolling down their cheek. but sophie totally distorts her face. have you ever been in such pain, such heartbreak, been completely devastated, crying so hard you could barely breathe? your face doesn’t look pretty. it’s twisted, it’s contorted. which is what sansa (and thus, sophie) is doing. you can FEEL her pain. you can see it in her face.
it makes me want to cry just looking at it. and i’m so impressed that sophie can do this, and that she doesn’t care about looking ‘ugly’. because pain like the pain sansa is experiencing IS ugly.
