you know what i find impressive about sophie turner? (one of many things anyway) her face when she cries.

when used out of context, these can seem funny, but if you look at what’s actually happening to her, the look on her face is heartbreaking. i find it incredible that sophie can channel this kind of despair. a lot of young ‘actors’ (ie the people on pretty little liars, gossip girl, etc) have their faces completely still and composed but with one perfect tear rolling down their cheek. but sophie totally distorts her face. have you ever been in such pain, such heartbreak, been completely devastated, crying so hard you could barely breathe? your face doesn’t look pretty. it’s twisted, it’s contorted. which is what sansa (and thus, sophie) is doing. you can FEEL her pain. you can see it in her face.

it makes me want to cry just looking at it. and i’m so impressed that sophie can do this, and that she doesn’t care about looking ‘ugly’. because pain like the pain sansa is experiencing IS ugly.

• Natasha actually wasn’t as highly sexualised as women are in superhero films usually; her costume provided actual protection, covered her properly, and by and large was no more sexy than what the men were wearing. Yeah, she has boobs, but women?? have boobs??? they’re not always there for your benefit
• she had a pretty huge vital role in the film, as much as the other main guys had and more than Clint (who spent a majority of the film possessed), had. She got Bruce Banner out of hiding, convinced him to join, calmed people down and stopped them from fighting, found out Loki’s plan, closed the portal, kicked ass in the big battle …
• each component of the Avengers had their strengths in the team and she was adept at using her enemies’ assumptions against them. Numerous times people dismissed her as an ultimately vulnerable woman and she used that to get information out of them and to manipulate them, include um the god of lies and mischief - also she was one of the two team members who had zero superhuman abilities so she definitely pulled her weight
